Iochpe-Maxion announces FINEP funding for innovation and strengthening national engineering

Event at Cruzeiro plant marks signing of contract

São Paulo, March 2025 – Iochpe-Maxion, a global benchmark in the automotive industry, announces the signing of a contract with the Financier of Studies and Projects (FINEP) to boost its strategic innovation plan. The R$357.3 million earmarked for its innovation projects over the next four years, in a 16-year financing, will allow Iochpe-Maxion to accelerate research and development initiatives focused on new materials and processes for sustainable automotive platforms and on digital transformation applied to the automotive industry.

The actions range from the development of innovative components and materials for structural assemblies of electric and low-emission combustion vehicles to the implementation of automation and artificial intelligence technologies to optimize industrial processes, reinforcing the company’s commitment to national engineering and the sustainable development of the industry.

To celebrate the signing of the contract, the company brought together partners, employees and authorities for a special event at the Cruzeiro (SP) plant, where the projects covered and the positive impacts for industry and the Brazilian economy were detailed.

The funding is part of the Finep Mais Inovação program, which supports projects aligned with the strategic missions of the National Industrial Development Council (CNDI), within the scope of the New Industry Brazil Program, encouraging technological advances and productivity gains in national industry. Among the projects funded are research and development into composites for automotive structures, vehicle safety equipment, digital solutions for vehicle monitoring, products for converting combustion vehicles (trucks, buses and pick-ups) into electric vehicles and new digital processes to increase production efficiency.
